Columbia, MO – The Southwestern Athletic Conference will not be represented at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Sacramento, Calif. Several of our athletes ran hard and long, but fell just short of advancing from the Mideast Regional at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The top five individuals and top three relay team in each event advance to the National Championship.
Nathaniel Hughes of Alcorn State University finished in sixth place in the men’s 400 meter hurdles. Hughes ran a time of 51.80 seconds. The Grambling State University men’s relay team just missed the top three, after placing 4th in the 4x400 relay. The Tigers finished with a time of 40.09.
