Texas Southern Pitcher Named to BlackCollegeBaseball.Com Elite Team

TSU Pitcher Isaac Daniels was honored today, by BlackCollegeBaseball.com.  The senior was named to the first team for starting pitchers.  Daniels had 7 wins, 6 losses and 2 saves in 14 starts in 2006.  He pitched 99.2 innings.

The right-hander from Portland, Oregon ranked first in the Southwestern Athletic Conference for ERA (2.98), shutouts (2) and opponent batting average (.217).  He ranked second in strikeouts with 104.


His 2006 highlights include 10 strikeouts vs. Alcorn State and Grambling State.

In May, Daniels was named to the 2006 All-SWAC First Team and SWAC All-West Team.

BlackCollegeBaseball.com also ranked Texas Southern 10th in the nation among HBCU baseball programs.


Candidates were taken from the nineteen Division-I programs which included the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Southwestern Athletic Conference, Chicago State of the Mid-Continent, and Savannah State University, an Independent program.
